Last month, WeChat landed at Comic-Con Hyderabad where we announced the winners of the WeChat Sticker Challenge and celebrated ‘World Sticker Day’ in India.
“World Sticker Day is dedicated to the world of emoticons and stickers, which have become an integral part of our modern digital lives,”said Nilay Arora, Country Head and Vice President of WeChat India. “Stickers can now replace a thousand emotions without typing a single word.”
On the Ground at Comic-Con
At Comic-Con Hyderabad, over 10,000 people came to experience all the fun at the WeChat booth and posed for photos with popular life-sized local stickers: Nautanki Baba, Mona, Jabbar, Narad Muni & Bong babe.
The winners of the WeChat World Sticker Challenge were also announced after thousands of students across the country participated and submitted their creative designs.

With the recent outbreak of Swine Flu (H1N1) in India, national health agencies and non-profit organizations are working tirelessly to try to contain the spread of this infectious disease.
To help drive awareness, WeChat has launched the official account “Swine Flu Help” – powered by Lybrate.
Through three key features of the official account, users will be able to receive daily updates about the disease and its treatment.

Under the “Info” tab, users will be able to read all about Swine Flu, its symptoms, how to prevent it, and treatment options for anyone infected with the disease.

Combine WeChat and Sunburn, the biggest electronic dance music festival in Asia, and you have one amazing experience. This year, by partnering with WeChat, Sunburn was able to push the boundaries yet again, creating a unique communication platform for festivalgoers through the launch of its official account.
Fans were treated to three days of action filled fun in Vagator, Goa, with performances from headliners including Knife Party, Krewella, Sander van Doorn, and Danny Avila. Through the Official Account, followers were able to keep in touch with event organizers, connect with other fans and receive all the latest updates for the best experience.

In September, the Jammu & Kashmir regions in India were hit by damaging floods caused by heavy rainfall. Several thousand villages were affected and a few hundred villages were submerged.
In light of the recent tragedy in Jammu & Kashmir, participants of WeChat India’s ‘Friends n Rewards’ campaign were given the option to donate Rs. 10 with all proceeds helping aid those impacted by this natural disaster.
Over 120K WeChat India users came together to raise a total of 12 lakhs ($34,000 USD) for the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to help render immediate relief to these families.
